Replaces a selected component with a renamed copy
If there are more than one equal instance of a component and one of them should be different this command is useful. It can also be used if all occurrences in the active assembly should change. Make Independent makes a copy of the selected component and replaces the original instance with the copy.
Select the component before or after starting the command.
For standard components, the new component is by default placed in the same folder as the original.
If the component is a library part or a standard content center part the new component is by default placed in the assembly folder and changed to be a standard custom component.
If the selected component is an assembly its components will remain unchanged. Only the assembly file is copied and replaced. Open the new assembly and run the command on the components to make those independent.
Number of components found in active assembly is shown. If only 1 found it is shown in bold letters. Remember that components might be used in other assemblies.
Start from Assembly ribbon, Sovelia panel:
Command | Value |

In the File name setup the component naming method can be changed to retrieve file names from Vault Numbering schemes. In that case the New File Name field is not shown.
