The purpose of the Item creation wizard is to simplify and speed up the creation of new items. By allowing the reuse of existing item information from "templates" or existing items users reduce repetitive data entry as well as reducing errors (Data Quality).
When saving a model for the first time, the item creation wizard pops up which allows user to:
- Create a new item from scratch
- Create a new item by using existing Sovelia item as a template
- Create a new item by using a locally saved template
- Connect to an existing Sovelia item
When an item is created using the option created with template, the information (Data Field values) in the selected existing item / local template will be used to autofill metadata attributes for the new item. Once the process is completed the auto filled values can be edited normally by using property card.
NOTE: Item creation wizard is included with CAD add-in release 24.2 and higher.
