Admin Settings

Before pipes can be route an administrator will need to configure some settings and create the pipe specifications. Settings are described in this article

Manage the users settings and make sure the important ones are "Read Only" and can not accidentally be changed by the user.

Settings

When changing settings, files in configuration path will also be changed.
The easiest way to find the path to your settings is by using the icon from Inventor Ribbon.

If Read Only is checked, users can not modify setting for that group.

New Route

• Auto-set pipe size from start edge, will suggest pipe with closest diameter to selected edge.

• Continue from existing spool (eg. from a tee or a collar)

  • Modify the existing spool, will add pipes and fitting in the same inventor assembly

  • Create a new spool, will create a new Inventor assembly and add the fittings to that

• Default bend operation - Default behavior If you have a spec with elbows and bend machine

  • Welded
  • Bend Machine

Welds

• Add gaps for welds, active or deactivate setting.

Insertion Length

• To automatically set the insertion length for pipe in other instruments like valve. Add a parameter or property to that component with a certain name.

Digit precision

• Shows number of decimals during creation of the routs.

Default values (initial settings only)

• Database
• Collar diameter use
  • Outer for OD
  • Inner for ID
• Segment length
  • Choose to work with pipe length or length to center point after bend/elbow.

Save path

• In the textbox you can add a folder with static name where all your pipes and spools created by Sovelia Routing will be saved.

• The checkbox will create a folder for assembly with the same name as the spoolname and place the pipes from that spool and the spool itself.

Templates

• Pipe Assembly (.iam)

• Pipe Part (.ipt)

• Drawings (.idw|.dwg)

• Insulation (.ipt)

• Hose assembly (.iam)

  • If it is kept empty hoses will not be demoted into an assembly.

• Hose (.ipt)

• Ground

  • Will ground component and not constrain

• Phantom (BOM)

  • Will not show in BOM / Parts List Instead the components inside will be shown.

Names

• Vault

  • Select from existing numbering schemes in Vault Professional

• Local

  • Create numbering schemes for local use.

Shared location

• Browse to a shared location for your settings and pipe specifications. If files in shared locations are modified the users will automatically get local files updated.

Colors

• During creation of your routes and insertion of your instruments or other visualization you can change some of the colors. A bit cryptic names but we believe you will find the way.

Deploy

Changes in settings are save in xml-files in stored in your configuration path. Navigate to configuration path using this button.

Deploy admin settings by copying this file to all users
