You can use batch update functionality to

  • Create new objects
  • Revise objects
  • Update object fields


Bulk update process

 The tool supports basic field updates including dictionary based fields. Life cycle, object type and relation updates are not supported in this tool. 

Note
You need to have sufficient access rights to modify (metareplace event) the objects.

Instructions

  • Export data from Sovelia Core
    • (Even if you are planning to import new objects, you can still run an export to create a layout for the import)
    • Search for the objects you wish to modify
    • Modify the grid to contain the appropriate columns
    • Export the data


  • Edit the data in the exported Excel file


  • Select the files folder icon and select Import Files
  • Load the import file
  • Click in the Validate icon 


  • A validation notification will appear


  • Download the file to see the validation report (optional)

The import status, changes and errors columns contain validation information.


  • Apply the validated to update the changes to Sovelia Core


The import file
  • The import file must have the Object ID and Revision columns.
  • It is always a good idea to export a template from Sovelia Core, even if you are not going to update the exported items.
  • If the Object ID is found, it will be updated.
  • If the Object ID is not found, it will be created.
  • Object ID * creates the next ID from the ID sequence mapped to the created object type.
  • Revision [LAST] can be used to target the change to the latest existing revision.
  • Revision ! can be used to create the next revision from the sequence. (Initial revision in case of new objects.)
  • Blank values mean no change. (Data is not removed.)
