Equipment BOM definition

The requirements for the equipment BOM are defined on the Engineering BOM.

Item traceability - Is the item included in the Equipment BOM.

Serial number traced - Defines if the part will have a serial number. If the quantity in the Engineering BOM is more than one, a separate equipment component will be created for each part.

Attach to equipment - Defines if the Product document or Drawing will be included in the Equipment BOM. Options are to link the existing document or a unique copy of it.

Special update functions, that allow updating these attributes even if the information as status In Production, are available to users that have the appropriate roles.

Spare part BOMs

If you want to included spare parts in the Equipment BOM for purchased components, you can add Spare part BOMs to the Engineering BOM.

This part of the structure is not considered as part of the Engineering BOM and is excluded from the ERP BOM transfer.

The Spare part BOM is treated as a phantom during the Equipment BOM generation. In other words, the all traced parts in the Spare part BOM will be placed its place.
