Roles control access rights to information Sovelia.

Some parts of the interface are also role based. For example, creation functions are not visible to viewers and workflow charts only visible to the relevant roles.

The following roles are setup in the Sovelia Template for product data management:

Role	Description	Access rights
Designer	Create and edit product data.	Create items, drawings, product documents and documents. Create manufacturer item information. Promote items, drawings product documents to status Design Review. View items, drawings product documents and documents at all states.
Design reviewer	Review product data.	Promote items, drawings and product documents from Design review to Design ready. Demote to In design. View items, drawings product documents and documents at all states.
Production preparation	Optional role to allow preparation of product data for production. Usually used as an addon role to Production Approver.	Edit items, drawings and product documents at state Design ready.
Production approver	Approve product data to production.	Promote items, drawings and product documents from Design ready to In production. Demote to Design review or In design. View items, drawings product documents and documents at all states.
Viewer Released - Product data	View released items, drawings and product documents.	View items, drawings and product documents at status In production.
Viewer - Product data	View items, drawings and product documents.	View items, drawings and product documents at all states.
